Beeline taps Mavenir for IMS modernisation; seeks to develop VoLTE in Moscow, St Petersburg

VimpelCom-backed Beeline Russia has announced that it has enlisted Mavenir to collaborate on the joint development of its network, and in particular the modernisation of its IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) platform. The cooperation envisages the development of voice-over-LTE (VoLTE), and potentially voice-over-Wi-Fi (VoWi-Fi) technology – depending on the level of commercial demand.
