Paradise Mobile CEO Sam Tabbara has a message for the global mobile market: Open RAN works. And it works well. In early December Paradise Mobile launched a commercial 5G network in Bermuda built on open radio access network (RAN) components from Mavenir and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Mavenir is proud to collaborate with DISH Wireless and other industry consortium partners to establish the Open RAN Center for Integration and Deployment (ORCID) as a result of a $50 million grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA).

Nokia and Mavenir have completed interoperability testing between Nokia’s baseband (DU/CU) and an open RAN Radio Unit (O-RU) from Mavenir, over the Open FrontHaul interface. The test took place at Nokia’s facility in Dallas.
