Mobile Telephony Application Server Simplicity = Service Transparency for the End user = Lower Costs for Mobile Operators. Mavenir enables ubiquitous mobile services in the IMS world with 2G/3G supplementary and enhanced voice services delivered to any mobile or IP based devices. Mobile TAS (aka Convergence Server) empowers operators to transition their mobile voice services to an IMS core network. Based on MMTEL concepts, Mobile TAS supports MAP and ANSI-41 services with built in CAMEL or WIN support, so mobile operators can cost effectively offer consistent voice services in the IMS domain. The M-TAS includes mobility functions to enable seamless mobility across IMS and GSM, UMA, UMTS or CDMA (ANSI-41) networks, eliminating the need for expensive standalone mobility and service adaptation layer in the network. Unique Business Value: Network Transformation - Voice Service Ubiquity Mobile operators can now ensure that their subscribers on IP devices (Fixed, WiMAX, LTE) will get the voice service parity as with their traditional mobile phones. With the integrated IN triggers, operators can ensure delivery of revenue generating Prepaid, Ring Back Tone features on mobile broadband. Service Differentiation - One Number One number makes users reachable across any device with their unique number identity tied to the user, not the device. For incoming calls to a single number, all provisioned devices within the group may be alerted, allowing the freedom to choose any device to answer a call. Service Differentiation - Mobility Unique and standard mobility options to provide service differentiation such as seamless mobility for multi-domain mobile devices or Push to Move/Push to Grab across various mobile and broadband devices. Service Differentiation - Multi Device Selection Users can choose the devices while connecting using the existing mobile number. The types of devices can be any of the following:
Cost Optimization - Legacy Access Support / MSC Elimination Bundled with Mavenir’s innovative ICS, the M-TAS enabled IMS core will also be able to support direct connection and service delivery to 2G and 3G access, eliminating the need for legacy MSC. Cost Optimization – IN Trigger Support Mavenir M-TAS, with its integrated IN support, eliminates the need for costly IM-SSF components in the IMS architecture in order to provide legacy SCP based services, both in the 3GPP/CAMEL and 3GPP2/ANSI WIN models. Mobile operators now only need to invest in next generation SCP as dictated by the need for new services, eliminating duplicate CAPEX for legacy services. Cost Optimization – SIP Routing Engine M-TAS also provides a basic function of SIP routing, in order to manage inter-MSC voice traffic. Mavenir has optimized the function to eliminate the need for an expensive tandem switching network and media gateways to handle inter or intra carrier voice traffic. Savings in backhaul network translates directly into top line for operators facing declining voice revenues per minute. Cost Optimization - Legacy Access Support / MSC Elimination Bundled with Mavenir’s innovative ICS, the M-TAS enabled IMS core will also be able to support direct connection and service delivery to 2G and 3G access, eliminating the need for legacy MSC. Solution components: Mobile Telephony Application Server (Mobile TAS) or the Convergence Server is an IMS application server providing mobile voice services enabled with traditional IN based services. The Mobile TAS also provides mobility functions such as VCC, SR-VCC and SCC across IMS and 2G/3G-CS domains, both in the GSM/UMTS (3GPP) and CDMA (3GPP2/ANSI-41D) network architectures. The application adheres to the SIP/IMS methodology where the calls are anchored at Mobile TAS. As part of this solution, registrations, basic voice and supplementary services and handover are all delivered via the SIP/IMS core infrastructure. Click to see architecture Mavenir's M-TAS interacts with the core IMS component S-CSCF over ISC interface. It also communicates with the GSM or CDMA HLR/AuC to retrieve the subscriber profiles for the users for arbitrating purposes in case of registrations, authentication, call originations, terminations and to provide services. In the Femtocell deployment architecture, the M-TAS/Convergence Server also supports MAP or IOS messages carried over SIP to support services and mobility in the Femto or Pico cell coverage zones. The Mavenir M-TAS can be deployed in a standalone configuration with any 3rd party IMS core or bundled with Mavenir IMS core enablers (I/S-CSCF) on the same platform to offer a cost-effective end-to-end IMS voice solution. Bundled with Mavenir’s innovative Network-based ICS solution, operators can also connect directly with the IMS Voice core with 2G and 3G access, effectively eliminating the need for legacy MSC from the mobile network. The Mavenir M-TAS is complemented by industry leading partner components including the Session Border Controller and Proxy CSCF (SBC / P-CSCF), Media Gateways (MGW) and Professional Services to provide a turnkey offer.
